This handmade ceramic mug was created by ceramics artists in San Antonio Palopo Guatemala. First, artisans create the ceramics using traditional pottery techniques. Then, every piece is hand painted using lead free paints and glazes. These ceramics are then high-fired at 2100°F-2300°F creating a durable piece. Every ceramic piece these artisans create is a unique work of art, so no two mugs will be exactly alike.
Each handmade ceramic mug can hold 15 oz. They are also microwave and dishwasher safe.
Our ceramics are handmade by Guatemalan artisans. Every artisan is trained and mentored by renowned ceramicist Ken Edwards. Many of these ceramics are made in a workshop called Felipe’s Ceramicas Palopó. Felipe was one of Ken Edwards’ first ceramics students. Now he runs his own studio where he employs many people in San Antonio Palopó. These Fair Trade jobs give artisans a living wage, steady source of income, and safe and empowering work conditions.
Fair Trade always respects artisans, their families, and the environment.
